Dauphin County

Dauphin County is an interesting blend of large metropolitan areas and wide open farmlands.

Visit the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, the state capital, or drive out to the small town of Hershey, which really does smell like chocolate. In between the two are so many more things to see and do.

The city of Harrisburg also serves as the county seat.

Other towns include: Berrysburg, Colonial Park, Dauphin, Grantville, Halifax, Hershey, Hummelstown, Linglestown, Lykens, Middletown, Paxtang, Paxtonia, Penbrook, Progress, and Rutherford.

Major roadways running in or through Dauphin County include Interstates 76 (The Pennsylvania Turnpike), 81, 83 and 283; US Routes 22, 209, 322, and 422; PA Routes 25, 38, 147, 225, 230, 283, 325, 341, and 743.
