The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania features over 100 locomotive and rail cars made or operated within the state, from wood fired steam engines to modern diesel-electric models. Other exhibits, both permanent and changing, round out the massive indoor and outdoor collection.

All about railroading in Pennsylvania, a train buff could spend a day or more weaving between the locomotives and rollong stock in the massive hall and yard. Even the casual fan will need more than an hour to see everything in passing. Be sure to bring a camera with a good flash, as the older section of the hall is poorly lit. Also, the hall is not climate controlled, so bring a jacket in the cooler months. During winter and inclement weather, the outdoor portion of the museum is usually closed.
