Originally built as a movie theater, the Kirby Center for the Performing Arts now occupies the grand art deco structure. Films are still shown on occasion, but the major focus is public performance, from music and comedy acts to plays and ballet.

Review:

Far more luxurious and intimate than a modern arena, the Kirby Center is an amazing venue to take in a performance. Every year, national headliners and local productions alike take the stage. The phrase "they don't make 'em like they used to" certainly applies to the Kirby Center.
