WebsiteThe Luzerne County Historical Society operates a museum in downtown Wilkes-Barre, just behind the Osterhout Free Library. The museum includes exhibits on Native Americans, historic postcards, and the anthracite coal found throughout the region. The Bishop Memorial Library, located two doors down on Franklin Street, is home to the society's collections of reference material, books, newspapers and other archives. The Luzerne County Historical Society also operates the Swetland Homestead.
